AMAZING activity holiday in Montenegro
“A week to kayak on Lake Skadar, hike in surrounding Prokletije Mountains, go wild swimming, discover village vineyards and seek out secret waterfalls. What’s not to love? ”
A family activity holiday in Montenegro.
No, I’d never considered it for a family trip either. I’m ashamed I even had to double check exactly where it is (the coast opposite the heel of Italy, the other side of the Adriatic. Just in case you needed to check too…).
But I couldn’t help but Oooooh when I saw this properly brilliant activity holiday in Montenegro on ResponsibleTravel’s site – and the more I read, the more I yearn to just grab the children and go and experience it.
It’s not for the littles – minimum age is 6. But WHAT an adventure – and the scenery is just jaw-dropping.
How about a week spent kayaking to remote islands with medieval monasteries, a bevy of birds or lily covered coves. Or hiking and biking trips into the hills to swim in rockpools, plunge into waterfalls or seek out ancient mountain pathways?
But it’s not all hiding in the wildlife – there’s lunch at a local mountain home, and visits to the local wine, cheese or honey producers. Plus you could take a day off to head to the coast. Or just sit back and relax at the simply amazing house and take in the view.
The group sizes are small (max 10 people), and the activity level is flexible from easy to moderate. The activity week includes 7 nights self-catering accommodation, one dinner, some lunches, 4 activities, mountain bikes.
Price is from £525 per person (exc flights), and you can see the full Montenegro Activity Holiday itinerary here.
There’s also a brilliant guide to travelling to Montenegro with the kids on the ResponsibleTravel site, which is definitely worth a look.
