It’s SUCH a great deal – they call it a ‘day trip’, but you’re actually allowed up to 29 hours on shore; which totally makes it a short break in my book. I had always presumed you got just a few hours in port before you had to catch the sailing back, but actually with that amount of shore time included in the offer, you can get an overnight stay and really do a little sightseeing while you’re there.

We’ve been wanting to take the WWII-mad 12yr old to see some of the D-Day Normandy memorials for some time; it’s never enough stopping for a quick look on the way back through Normandy at the end of a holiday, he wants to properly explore and see the museums.
