Set on the banks of the largest lake in Northern France in the heart of the Avesnois National Park (not far from the Belgium border) Les Cottages de Valjoly offer guests easy access to all of the many attractions on offer all in wonderful surroundings with views of the lake, perfect for a relaxing yet offering an adventurous break for those who wish to do a little more than just sit!
The property itself is just five minutes from the centre of Valjoly where there are many shops to browse and numerous restaurants to choose from to dine. Watersports and other outdoors activities are on offer, and if you want to visit larger towns you will find yourself within two hours of some of France and Belguims best with Lille, Reims and of course Brussels all in reach.

These traditional wooden cottages are designed to fit with the landscape and the natural activity-based holiday this resort offers. They are spacious and airy, with stunning views over the huge lake, a great place to kick back relax and soak up the atmosphere. The cottages sleep between two to eight guests, and have a modern neutral décor, really large windows to make the most of the natural light and stunning views. They all have terraces which are equiped with outdoor furniture, allowing guests to make the most of the abundant fresh air. There is also a cosy living room and fully equipped kitchen in each, complete with hot plates, a microwave, fridge, dishwasher and extractor fan, great for a self-catered stay, what more could you want!

Within the resort itself are five restaurants (if cooking is not for you) serving a variety of French, Belgian and international cuisine. But if you do fancy having a go at cooking your own favourite recipe or trying something a bit more French, then there is a small shop on site which sells all the essentials for that alfresco picnic!

Other facilities on site include an indoor swimming pool (for those not fond of lakes!), a childrens play area, a jacuzzi, a laundrette and a bakery delivery service! You can also hire bicycles and wifi is available in your cottage for an extra small charge, however it is free at reception if you only want to pick up thise emergency messages and are otherwise quite happy to leave the socal media at home for a week! Plenty of disabled access, cots available if you have really small ones, and if like us you are used to taking your dog to France, then you will be pleased to know that they are accepted at Valjoly too!
Valjoly is just two and a half hours drive from Calais, so within farly easy reach and with prices starting at just £113, what are you waiting for?
Obviously the cheepest prices are for out of season dates, but even the school holidays a cottage sleeping up to 6 people in the height of the summer season (first week of August) is still only a little over £600 for the week!
